 Topic Brainstorm

After browsing the project ideas index I have chosen the 4 following topics that I am the most interested in:

Option 1. The first topic I found the most interesting to advance on was music. After taking Native American music last semester I think it would be pretty easy to break down and understand the different aspects of Indian music culture. The index described how in the different epics you will see how music and dancing are apart of the plot. I had learned in native American music how music is used to tell stories in different regions which makes analyzing music for the class relatable.

Option 2. The second topic I am interested in exploring for the semester project is food in Indian culture. In the index, it discussed there are many different references to food in epics, as well as the fact that there are many different ways that food and stories about food can be woven in a story. I find that important because I would like to explore a topic that has many different directions I can take the story. with a vast amount of food in Indian culture and their different meanings, it should be easy to capitalize on that and make a good story.

Option 3. The third option is the exploration of the weapons of the gods. In Indian culture gods and goddesses possess different weapons with supernatural and natural qualities. I find this topic to be the most interesting one as it is one that I have the least amount of knowledge on. Even though I don't have much knowledge on this topic I think there are several shows and movies that I have seen that give references to celestial weapons. I could use what I have seen in movies as well as the references in epics to make a great story.

Option 4. My final option and definitely my favorite is exploring the topic of epic heroes. After browsing the comics as well as reading the information provided in the index I find this topic to be the one I can relate the most to. The index described that there is no shortage of heroes in the epics we will be reading. I can use what knowledge I have of more mainstream heroes from comics and movies and compare that to qualities of the heroes in the epics. But the most important part was that the interpreation of what a hero is can be completely up to me. That fact akone provides a number of direcrtions I can go with my storybook or portfolio.

 Hello, My name is Wesley Williams and I am a biology pre-dentistry major. The coolest thing about my major is that I only had to take Calculus and not go any further in math. One of the best classes I took last semester was Native American Music. Week 13 Story: The Last Son

 The Last Son      Once upon a time, there was a prestigious family with five sons. Each of the sons with a chance to succeed their father and become king of the realm. A War was starting and each of the sons and King got ready for the battle in order to defend the realm. The youngest son Thorfinn was meant to stay home and protect his mother and sisters. Thorfinn was very stubborn and loved to hunt with his brothers. Of course, he was extremely upset by this and decided to actually sneak on his family ship and go off to war too. As soon as he realized the ship was far enough to not turn back he revealed to his father and brothers he was on board. It wasn't until later that this would become a problem. Not even a full day at sea and the ship came under attack from enemy forces. Abruptly, Thorfinn's brothers and father were overwhelmed by the enemy and killed. Week 5 Story: The Streets

The Streets Tyrone and Sasha were a very loving couple and have gone through a lot together. They were together when Tyrone was arrested and sent away to live on his own. Tyrone and Sasha were together when Sasha was kidnapped by her crazy ex-boyfriend. This may have been one of the worst tragedies this couple has faced. However, through it all, they have stayed together and have managed to keep their relationship intact. This was until the rumors had started. Many rumors were surfacing that Sasha was not kidnapped by her crazy ex-boyfriend, but that she had left on her own accord to be with him. Tyrone did not want to believe the rumors and so he did what any man would do. Tyrone made a secret plan to test her. He decided he would have his friend slide in her DMS to see if she was loyal.
